Key Responsibilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities ● Lead the operation of the KTP, ensuring that agreed plans are implemented, milestones and targets are monitored and reviewed, and that obstacles to delivery are identified, tackled, and resolved in a timely manner, and the project is delivered within the appropriate timescales. ● Translate recent advances in AI and NLP technologies into Automated Analytics, upskilling Automated Analytics staff in this area and ensuring that expertise is embedded in the company for future service and product development. ● Develop novel algorithms for explainable and scalable contrastive sentiment analysis and opinion summarisation, which will be able to analyse multi-streams of dynamically produced data in real-time. ● Develop methods for high-quality automated data augmentation. ● Contribute to the evaluation the developed algorithms in a real-world setting ● Plan, design, develop, construct, and refine systems or experiments to obtain reliable and appropriate data (in consultation with the Knowledge Base Supervisor and Business Supervisor). ● Analyse and record data and produce reports in a manner fit for and in accordance with the requirements of the KTP project, including progress reports to the Local Management Committee (LMC) and reports to Innovate UK. ● Participate in LMC meetings. ● Carry out administrative roles as required by the Knowledge Base Supervisor and the Business Supervisor. ● Engage with company personnel at all levels and aid and advice to company employees regarding the project, its aims, and results. ● In consultation with the Knowledge Base Supervisor and Business Supervisor, prepare ● project results for dissemination in the appropriate form: reports to Innovate UK, presentations to conferences, journals, seminars, or other applicable routes. ● Actively disseminate results in an appropriate format.

Essential Requirements

Have a PhD or MSc in a relevant discipline. Applicants who hold a MSc is expected to have substantial research and/or project experience in natural language processing and machine learning. Excellent knowledge in statistical and neural natural language processing Excellent command in mathematics (esp. linear algebra) and statistics (esp. probability). Evidence of excellent programming skills in Python and working knowledge of deep learning frameworks, such as, Tensorflow and PyTorch. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, report writing skills, experience of delivering presentations. Ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of longer- term implications. Ability to assess and organise resources, and plan and progress work activities. Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving. Ability to plan and make informed decisions. Ability to write technical reports and create full documentation of project results.
