Essential Requirements

- A PhD in a relevant subject area, or have equivalent experience. - Ability to design and deliver high-quality, research led, teaching programmes to ensure effective learning. - Ability to critically review and assess existing teaching programmes and own teaching practice in order to bring about positive change. - Ability to undertake a programme of high-quality research, with a clear vision for future research direction. - Ability to generate research income from a variety of sources, in line with disciplinary norms. - Ability to generate high-quality, internationally excellent, research outputs including peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, etc. - Ability to deliver research impact through activities that demonstrate an effect beyond academia, for example via public engagement activities, patent applications, consultancy etc. - Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with a high degree of personal effectiveness. - Ability to bring about positive change by constructively challenging established practice, structure and process. - Ability to foster effective relationships at all levels, both internally and externally (academia, professions and industry). - Excellent organisational skills and the ability and willingness to contribute to the administrative function. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to build and develop a team of researchers (staff and research students), providing effective management/supervision. - A commitment to continuing professional development.
