Key Responsibilities

Do you have good qualitative research skills with some experience of applied research? Are you interested in researching the experiences of new migrants coming to live in the UK? If so this role may be for you. Migration Yorkshire recognises the value of involving people with lived experience of what you are researching in the design and implementation of research, therefore we are looking for someone with experience of migrating to the UK. You'll be supporting the research work of Migration Yorkshire and its partners in the Refugee Integration Yorkshire and Humber project. Topics include the experiences and practices of Yorkshire residents hosting families and individuals from Ukraine, the housing pathways of refugees, and the employment trajectories of different refugee groups. You'll need: Good qualitative research skills Some experience of applied research Strong communication skills including fluency in Ukrainian Personal experience of migrating to live in the UK Familiarity with challenges faced by people with different migration statuses. The post is funded through 'Refugee Integration Yorkshire and Humber' which provides comprehensive support to improve the integration of refugees, with a strategic approach and front-line services, underpinned by research, evidence and refugee participation. Refugee Integration Yorkshire and Humber is delivering a regional strategy with commitments from all partners, galvanising key services, employers and civil society, producing robust research, and providing local one-to-one support and opportunities for individual refugees. The project is managed by Migration Yorkshire and delivered across the Yorkshire and Humber region through a partnership of statutory and third sector organisations. The project is part funded by the European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund. Migration Yorkshire supports people and organisations to achieve the most positive outcomes of migration for everyone in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Migration Yorkshire provides leadership and coordination, evidence, and practical assistance to organisations from all sectors at local, regional and national level.
