Key Responsibilities

We’re looking for a bilingual Deputy Building Bridges Manager to join our team at the Angling Trust. Your mission will be to help anglers understand our angling laws and customs. You’ll work closely with our Building Bridges National Manager as well as key partners or clubs to host integrated angling events, bring together anglers from different countries and cultures, and organise school visits or coaching days within migrant communities. This is a fixed term, part-time role that suits someone fluent in English and either Romanian or Ukrainian, living within the M40 / M4 corridor (in and around the High Wycombe area) with a driving licence and access to their own vehicle—you will be working alongside a very dedicated and supportive team in a company that is flexible and family-friendly. What you’ll be doing • Encouraging migrant communities to take part in fishing related volunteering opportunities • Developing and exploring relationships with migrant organisations in England • Providing guidance and support to angling clubs, aiding their engagement with migrant anglers Who you are • Fluent in English and either Romanian or Ukrainian and living within the M40 / M4 corridor (in and around High Wycombe) • Presentation and communication are some of your strengths—you’re happy to build strong, positive internal and external relationships • You know your way around platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 and you’re comfortable connecting to a projector to display PowerPoint slides as part of a workshop presentation • You’re self-motivated and you work well independently—you’ll be happy to manage a varied workload and ready to pivot with changing priorities • You’re curious, confident, capable, sociable, and charismatic with a proactive attitude—and willing to own your continuous professional development What will make you stand out • An interest in angling or an understanding of angling and fisheries issues • Strong storyteller who understands that people engage with stories, not just facts and figures • Experience creating, posting, and managing engaging content for websites and social media • Photography and/or videography skills • Experience working with volunteers What’s in it for you • Salary of £27,825 pro rata per annum, plus contributory pension • Remote with field or office attendance as required (various locations across England) • Flexible working across 22.5 hours (3 days) per week (occasional weekend work) • 1 year fixed term contract, with possibility of extension subject to performance and funding • 25 days holiday (plus public holidays) later rising every year up to 28 days • Laptop and mobile phone as well as any mileage, expenses, and TOIL Who we are The Angling Trust is the national governing body in England representing fishing—one of the country’s largest participation sports.
