Key Responsibilities
Café on the pier is a family friendly, dog friendly café located in the beautiful surroundings of St Annes sea front, serving a variety of meals including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free, as well as classic British options such as fish and chips. We are looking to recruit 2 Fish and Chip Shop Assistants to join our friendly team. Job Purpose As a fish and chip shop assistant, you are crucial to the smooth running and success of our fish and chip shop environment and are highly valued. Some key responsibilities to ensure the shop runs smoothly, include maintaining a clean environment, keeping storage space organised, preparing orders and great customer services. The right candidate must enjoy a fast and friendly environment with the ability to serve great quality food under pressure, whilst being friendly, polite, and efficient. Key Responsibilities • Taking and preparing customer orders. • Cash handling and using the till. • Cleaning the shop before, during and at the end of service to ensure it is ready for the next day. • Receiving deliveries and restocking within the shop. • Ensuring adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables, maintaining stock rotation. • Providing assistance to other staff, as needed. • Following company policies and adhering to health and safety guidelines • Being knowledgeable about the products and services in the shop and helping customers by giving great natural service. • Managing queues and meeting customer expectations. • Actively promote and sell products and services. Upsell to maximise profit.
Essential Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience • Ability to communicate with other staff. • Till experience is preferred. • Thorough attention to detail, excellent time management and critical thinking skills. • Knowledge of kitchen safety and health regulations. • Team player skills, assisting other colleagues when necessary. • Drive and determination to achieve performance and standards. • Experience and enthusiasm to contribute and fully support the running of the shop, combined with the ability to work well under pressure. • Highly ambitious with a desire to playing a key role in the continued growth and success of the business. • Deliver an exceptional level of customer service with the ability to build rapport with customers, building solid relationships resulting in repeat business. • Be willing to learn, take instruction and work under own initiative, supporting other team members and able to multitask. Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
