We are currently looking for two people to help develop, deliver and manage this new and exciting project: a Coordinator to help establish and lead the Poverty Truth Commission and a Facilitator to support delivery. The roles will help us set up conversations with people living in poverty in South Lakeland. We will be using the ‘Poverty Truth Commission’ model to connect people living in poverty with those making decisions about their lives and to support conversations and ongoing relationships. By doing this, we hope to support local agencies to make better decisions that truly improve people’s lives. Role Purpose You will establish, develop and co-ordinate the South Lakes Poverty Truth Commission (PTC), working with statutory, community and resident groups to help understand and improve the lived experiences of those that suffer from poverty. You will identify and work with a group of people directly affected by poverty, supporting them to become ‘testifiers’. facilitating their voices to be heard and drawing out key issues that need addressing towards changing the way the district perceives and tackles poverty. You will represent the Commission’s work across the district and will be responsible for line managing the PTC Facilitator.

Essential Requirements

Fluent in English Experience of developing and managing projects and budgets is essential, as are excellent listening and communication skills, and knowledge and experience of working with a range of partners.
