Role overview Cumbria CVS offers help, advice, training and support to voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector (VCSFE) throughout Cumbria, offering support to the 2,500+ organisations. We are currently looking for two people to help develop, deliver and manage this new and exciting project: a Coordinator to help establish and lead the Poverty Truth Commission and a Facilitator to support delivery. The roles will help us set up conversations with people living in poverty in South Lakeland. We will be using the ‘Poverty Truth Commission’ model to connect people living in poverty with those making decisions about their lives and to support conversations and ongoing relationships. By doing this, we hope to support local agencies to make better decisions that truly improve people’s lives. Role Purpose You will support the overall coordination and delivery of the PTC including the identification, support and nurturing of people with lived experience of poverty. You will support and facilitate individuals to tell their stories and ensure communications are maintained between all stakeholders. You will also organise and facilitate all PTC meetings and events, provide administration support, and reports as requested.
Essential Requirements
Fluent in English Experience of working with people living with disadvantage, excellent communications skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of partners are essential.
