Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design high quality teaching for the programme in line with the national curriculum which includes identifying learning objectives

• Deliver teaching which includes preparing materials, communicating subject matter and encouraging critical discourse to develop independent thinking

• Ability to work as a team player in the planning and delivery of teaching considering new teaching methods to enhance the student experience

• Carry out assessment for the programme which includes designing assessment and criteria; marking assessments; ensuring adequate moderation, providing prompt written/oral feedback; judging whether student circumstances should be taken into consideration the assessment

• Lead on the student recruitment process representing the programme at interviews acting as a gate keeper to the training role and assessing students' suitability for training

• Provide prompt, helpful and accurate feedback to students

• Carry out course evaluation including facilitating student feedback, reflecting on own teaching design and delivery, and implementing ideas for improving own performance.

• Act as Module Coordinator, reviewing and ensuring the teaching and assignment(s) for an assigned module meets the curriculum criteria and is of a high standard.

• Take a pastoral role for students, such as acting as Personal Tutor. If necessary referring students to the appropriate authority for guidance.

• Liaise with external stakeholders offering guidance on University policies and procedures

• Plan and prioritise own daily workload in consultation with the needs of the programme

• Deal with reactive requests daily such as those relating to teaching, supervision of students and administrative tasks

• Contribute to the life of the Clinical and Applied Psychology Unit, the Department, the Faculty and the wider University community through participation in and membership of Department/ Faculty Committees.

Essential Requirements

-Relevant professional qualifications and/or substantial relevant clinical experience (e.g. PG Dip in CBT, DClin Psy, PG Cert in Low Intensity work, working as graduate mental health worker or equivalent)

-Suitable NHS or educational experience of working with children and young people

-Demonstrate knowledge of low intensity CBT informed assessments, formulations and interventions -Experience of being in a teaching role (e.g. in the delivery of psycho-educational interventions in services or teaching on other PG courses or to NHS staff)

-Ability to deliver effectively knowledge and understanding to NHS trainees.

-Ability to ensure that all trainees are actively engaged in the learning process.

-Ability to construct and utilise a range of teaching methods/aids as a means of enhancing trainee understanding and experience.

-Ability to deliver timely, informative and personalised feedback on trainee assignments.

-Ability to respond positively and informatively to trainee questions and queries.

-Experience of effective coordination and co-working with colleagues.

-Experience of reviewing supervisees progress and performance and encouraging individual performance planning

-Experience of developing and maintaining a network of contacts throughout own work area

-Experience of adapting own skills to new circumstances

-Experience of enabling skill development and/or facilitating group supervision or tutorials
